Marissa works with children, adolescents, parents, adults, and couples. She holds Master’s degrees in Psychology and Counselling and is a Member of the British Psychological Society. Her therapeutic work focuses on emotional intelligence, emotion regulation, internal patterns of behaviour, and the interplay between thoughts, feelings, and relationships.

Marissa specialises in supporting adults and young people in understanding their emotional worlds, improving communication, and developing healthier coping strategies. Her therapeutic orientation is integrative and grounded in emotional education. She draws on evidence-based modalities including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT/SFBT), Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and the Gottman Method for Couples Therapy.

With a background in organisational psychology, Marissa also supports individuals in corporate and professional settings. Her work in this space focuses on personal and professional growth, including communication skills, self-esteem, emotional regulation under pressure, stress and anxiety management, and the development of essential interpersonal and leadership skills.

Marissa is experienced in working within multicultural environments. Being German-Indonesian and having lived in both cultures before settling in Singapore, she is attuned to the cultural nuances that influence identity, relationships, and emotional expression. Before transitioning into the field of psychology, Marissa spent over 15 years working in the television industry, where she developed strong skills in effective communication, public speaking, and connecting with diverse audiences. She supports clients in navigating cultural and personal layers with sensitivity and understanding.

Her approach is warm, collaborative, and non-judgemental. She believes that every individual has the capacity to understand themselves more deeply, regulate their emotions more effectively, and create meaningful change when provided with a safe therapeutic space. She supports clients in uncovering their internal narratives, recognising the roots of their emotional responses, and developing tools that allow them to grow with confidence and self-compassion.

As a mother of two girls, Marissa brings her lived experience of parenting and her passion for children’s emotional development into her clinical and educational work. She believes that emotional literacy is a life skill that shapes not only childhood, but the foundations of adulthood.
