Joan Chia is an experienced counsellor and coach dedicated to supporting the emotional well-being of individuals and couples. With close to a decade of practice across public, private, and social service settings, Joan offers clients a supportive and grounded therapeutic experience.
Joan works with a wide range of concerns, including relationship difficulties, stress, anxiety, depression, life transitions, family challenges, workplace issues, and navigating complex emotional experiences. Her practice integrates multiple evidence-based modalities such as Choice Theory and Reality Therapy, Interpersonal Psychotherapy, Narrative Therapy, Emotion-Focused Therapy, Psychodrama, and Gottman Couple Therapy. This breadth allows her to tailor her approach thoughtfully to each client’s unique needs, goals, and pace.
Joan’s experience spans education, digital mental health platforms, and the social service sector. She also supports corporate organisations in their Employee Assistance Programmes through conducting socio-emotional webinars for their staff. As a Certified Performance and Leadership Coach (CPLC), ACTA-qualified trainer, and Prepare-Enrich facilitator, she provides coaching, workshops, and couples and parenting programmes.
