Maheen is a dedicated counsellor with clinical experience supporting teenagers, adults, and parents in an international school and private practices in Singapore. Having lived in nine countries across Europe, America, the Middle East, and Asia, she brings a profound “Third Culture” perspective to her practice. This international background informs her empathetic and culturally sensitive approach, helping clients navigate the complexities of identity and transition.
Maheen specializes in supporting individuals facing stress, anxiety, depression, parenting challenges, burnout, emotional regulation challenges, and relationship issues. Maheen finds particular fulfilment in helping to rebuild and strengthen the relationship between parents and children. Through this work, parents often report feeling better equipped and more confident in responding to their children’s needs. As a certified ‘Tuning in to Kids and Teens’ facilitator, Maheen has successfully led numerous parent groups and worked with individual clients to improve their relationships and create a more harmonious home environment.
Her therapeutic work is person-centered and integrative, drawing on evidence-based modalities including:Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT),Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT). Maheen is committed to creating a safe, non-judgmental space where clients feel deeply respected and empowered. Drawing on each person’s inherent strengths and resources, she works collaboratively with her clients to help them achieve their goals.
