Steven has been active for 11 years in the local mental healthcare landscape. His journey began with a two-year tenure as a dedicated school counselor at a secondary school, followed by eight years as a clinical psychologist upon completing his Masters training in Singapore, during which he primarily worked within the Ministry of Social and Family Development.
His current focus lies in aiding individuals grappling with various emotional challenges, such as depression, anxiety, unhealthy obsessions and compulsive behaviours, and insomnia. Additionally, he has extensive experience helping individuals with impulse control difficulties, including anger or sexual preoccupation.
Steven’s therapeutic approach is deeply rooted in evidence-based methodologies, drawing from Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy, and Schema Therapy. Beyond clinical assessments, Steven also conducts psychometric (e.g., intelligence, memory, achievement) and medico-legal assessments (e.g., domestic violence, child neglect, parental custody) that come with a full report and its interpretation to clients.
Adopting a person-centered, trauma-informed, and compassion-focused stance, Steven extends a nonjudgmental hand to anyone seeking his guidance and to collaboratively assist with their challenges.
