Germaine believes that all emotions are valid, and that practising self-compassion is essential for healing and personal growth. By acknowledging and giving space to one’s emotional experiences, individuals can begin to make meaning of their stories and move towards intentional change.

Germaine is a counsellor currently based in Singapore and a registered provisional member of the Singapore Association for Counselling (SAC). She holds a Master’s degree in Counselling and Guidance from James Cook University Singapore, and has experience facilitating school programmes and workshops that support emotional wellbeing and promote mental health awareness.

Her approach is integrative and client-centred, with a strong emphasis on creating a safe, culturally sensitive, and non-judgmental space for clients to explore their inner world. Having lived in South Korea for a period of time, Germaine has developed a deeper awareness of how cultural values, social expectations, and language can influence the way emotions are expressed and experienced.

She draws from Person-Centred Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused approaches, and her training in Emotion-Focused Therapy (Core Skills) to tailor each session to the individual – supporting youths and young adults as they navigate depression, anxiety, stress, emotional regulation difficulties, grief and loss, adverse childhood experiences, life transitions, relationship challenges, and questions around self-identity.

Outside of counselling, Germaine enjoys creative outlets such as painting, dance, and singing. She also enjoys reading, which continues to broaden her understanding of diverse perspectives and lived experiences across cultures.
